questions?

1) What is this project about?

As mentioned in the project introduction page, this project is about showing the international fans' support and love for TVXQ. Besides just showing our unwavering support for them, we also want to work towards a charitable cause in the name of TVXQ.

2) Where will my money go to?

(i) Newspaper Advertisement
Just like what the Korean, Japanese and Chinese fans have done, the international fans will be running a support advertisement on [NAME OF NEWSPAPER] on [DATE].

24 January Edit: The project organizers have taken into account all the feedback we received, and after careful consideration, it has been decided that donations will be made to the Haiti victims when the project closes, and the advertisement phase will only be carried out on a later, more suitable date. If you want your donation to go towards Haiti only, please leave a comment here.

(ii) Charity
Half or more of the money collected through this project will be donated in full to UNICEF Korea and the money will go towards the victims of the Haiti Earthquake.

For more information on UNICEF Korea, click here and here.

For more information on the Haiti Earthquake, click here.

When the advertisement is released on the papers, a press statement which will be sent to the Korean press will be released simultaneously (concentrating on the charity aspect of the project). Our Korean partner "Faith... and Cassiopeia" is working with us on this portion, and they will help by being the middle person for us and the Korean press. The names of the countries that participated in this project will be given to the press.

3) How do I donate?

(i) Paypal
Email: future_sex.lovesound@yahoo.co.uk
Subject: Contribution for I:LOVE Project

(ii) Western Union/Checks/Bank Transfers/Money Order/Travelers' Check/Concealed Cash
Email: tvxq.internationalfans@gmail.com
Subject: Donation for I:LOVE Project
Include: Name, Country & State, Payment Method

You will be advised with the appropriate information based on your payment option.

(iii) Moneypak (United States only)

4) Who are the organizers?

The organizers for this project are the forums and sites listed here. DNBN and the Korean fan cafe "Faith... and Cassiopeia" have also lent us their support for this project.

However, the success of this project depends on every single international fan that participates! :)

5) Deadline

All collection for this project will end on 15 March 2010, Midnight (Pacific Standard Time). Please ensure that all the donations reach the staff in time.

6) Why is there no target amount?

Since there are 2 parts to the project, we hope to collect as much money as possible, to be donated to the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. It's for a good cause, so the more the merrier!

For example, if the advertisement costs USD$5,000, we need to raise at least USD$10,000 so that we can match the charity donations with the advertisement costs, as our project aims to donate at least an equal amount to UNICEF. If we raise USD$15,000, then USD$10,000 will go to the Haiti victims.
**Please note that the figures stated here are just examples.

24 January Edit: The project organizers have taken into account all the feedback we received, and after careful consideration, it has been decided that donations will be made to the Haiti victims when the project closes, and the advertisement phase will only be carried out on a later, more suitable date.If you want your donation to go towards Haiti only, please leave a comment here.

Hi! I just wanna know if I should post anything after I donated.

Thanks!
If you are donating through Paypal, it's not a necessity as Paypal will send a confirmation email to you.

However, if you wish to leave a comment for the Project Team / for TVXQ, you can do so here: http://community.livejournal.com/tvxq_i_love/292.html

Thank you! :)

Is there a way to have ALL of the donations go toward Haiti, in the name of TVXQ international fans? I can't really fathom spending $30,000 on yet another newspaper ad when there are 200,000 people dead in an obscenely poor island nation that was also hit by four hurricanes last year. :|

I know what you're saying!

This project was planned way before the Haiti Earthquake, and initially the money would have gone to UNICEF for their usual work. Since the Earthquake happened though, we will channel the money for that specific cause instead.

The Japanese fans spent that amount of money for their advertisement because of the paper they chose. We are trying to keep the advertisement costs at USD$5,000 and donating the rest of the money we collect for the Haiti cause. Because of the preparations we made in advance with the Korean side, it's hard to pull out of the advertisement portion right now T_T

I would like to let you know here that Shimjjang Forums: The One and Only International Changmin Fan Forum will definitely spread the word on this project!
That is awesome!

Thank you so much for your support :)
like velcro said, the ad did seem kinda self-serving. japanese and chinese cassies' ads were printed out when there was no immediate crisis like the haiti quake and i'm just afraid that if we pull out a similar stunt as them now, it would backfire and ruin the image of international cassies instead =/

i wish that the majority of the fundings would go to charity and the fund for the ad could be kept to the minimum. thank goodness i've made my paypal account end of last year. i don't think i could donate much, but donate i will.
The plan is for majority of the donations we receive to go to charity, and we will try to keep the advertising costs to the bare minimum. We are still working out the ad costs, but rest assured that we feel the same way, so we're definitely working towards that.

Thank you for your support! :)

Will there be a list of countries and nationalities of international fans to let the boys know that we may not be able to speak Korean or Japanese but we love their songs and we love and admire them anyway.
In the press release that we send, we may have a list of the countries that took part in it, as part of the appendix. If not, the names of the countries will definitely be listed within the release :)
I'm from Indonesia and I will send concealed cash.
Where should I send?
Please email us with the following:

Include: Name, Country & State, Payment Method

You will be replied with the mailing address, thank you! :)

I'm glad that someone is doing a project like this. I thought about it before, but didn't really know how to get it started or anything. I would echo what everyone else has said about the newspaper advertisement, but after reading the above explanation I understand that you're stuck with it. As long as the advertisement costs are to a minimum, I really don't mind it that much.

What I wanted to say though is that I don't see many people commenting here. Of course, they could be donating without leaving a comment, but still. I would love to see everyone really get together for this. I know some people are going to be against the newspaper ad, but maybe if you explain clearly in the main post about it, that would help. If you're stuck you're stuck. And also, we have the potential to raise a lot of money. I was just looking and there are over 14,000 members in the dbsg comm alone. If we could just get most of them to donate a dollar (or the equivalent in their currency) then we would have a lot of money. I feel like I'm going off about this on someone else's project, but really. If everyone would give just that much, because I know none of us are rolling in cash here, then we would be able to make a sizable donation.
Yeah, I agree, because I certainly don't have much $$ to donate, so even if we could just donate $1 each... we'd be able to raise a lot!
Just depends on the number of participants!

actually i have the same thought about the newspaper ad. i think it is better for the money to be given as a charity. however, i understand the whole situation and really appreciate the initiative of international fans in collecting fund for the earthquake victims.
i will also participate in this project. not only because this is tvxq related project but also because i want to be part of the helping hands.
never mind about the money for news ad, i just assuming that i participate in tvxq project and at the same time i can do a charity. i think it is much2 better than only talking an commenting but do nothing..^^
thank you for your support! :)
umm...I was wondering what does concealed money mean? :D
I'd really like to help on this project and donate but...I live in Finland and I don't have paypal...I'm not sure how I could send the money :/
Concealed cash is sending cash through the mail and having it wrapped and placed in a courier bag of some sort.

i am really glad that the intl fans are planning this too :)
its a great idea & i think all of us can really gather up alot of donations since we're a large number coming not just from 1 country.
i hope everyone can participate in this!

i just heard about Haiti experiencing a second hit, they really need as much help as they can get now T.T
though i won't say much about the newspaper ad since everyone has pretty much said what i'm thinkin'.

Anw i don't have paypal but i can do ibanking to you if thats ok with you :DD
sadly i can't transfer money now cos i'm broke, but i will be able to after 7feb when i get my pay ^-^~

I'm a highschooler with a lame job..

I like this idea and i understand what this is all about.
but it's not original :(

don't you think we can show more love and show the world who TVXQ is if we donate all the money to Haiti or a charity under TVXQ's name....I'm sure it will go on the media around the world...this way 1.TVXQ can see how much we love them, 2. we will be kinda promoting their name 3. we are helping all those people in Haiti

i don't mind donating but...the newspaper add is just....well.........not original =(
Like I mentioned on top, we have certain obligations that we need to fulfill. We're still trying to work it out though.

Thank you for your feedback :)

I think its better if we donation to haiti first. We can do ads later. Haiti more need help now. We can show to world our support to tvxq by donation to haiti with use tvxq name. I think its better we use the whole money to donation.
well... i'll be more than happy to help
in name of our monterrey Mexico fanclub
i do have a question...if i want to donate just for Haiti, or how this works exactly? o,o, like how percentaje will go to each
i do think the donations should go to haiti first... o_O but if you cant like "pull out" or stop negotiations or something about the add, well...

still, we'll be glad to donate in name of TVXQMty Mexico n__n
hello there!

right now, the donations for the ad and the charity is combined as we're still not sure if we can pull out of the advertisement portion.

if you're still interested in donating, do let me know, and thank you! :)
Seems like it would have been a good idea to actually see how much it would cost to run a full page advertisement in one of Seoul's most popular newspapers, instead of just collecting random amounts of money...
The half-page advertisement that the Japanese fans ran cost almost USD$30,000.

Because of the current situation in Haiti, we are trying to keep the ad cost at a minimum, and trying to donate bulk of the money collection to the Haiti cause instead.

i'm going to sound like an unfeeling person but i'm going to go ahead and say this anyway knowing i'm going to get alot of wank for this....

yes, it is a sensitive time because there are ALOT of victims but it was pointed out previously (in another post i read which i'm sorry but i am not going to go find) that the commitment to run an ad was made prior to the earthquake. as such, it would probably be hard if not impossible to pull out of running the ad.

additionally...and i'm going to sound super insensitive right now but...suffering by people occurs every single second of every single day of every single week...why will this be any different. no one ever had a fit when other projects were announced saying why not donate that money to a better cause. there are people going hungry in third world countries & there are people being persecuted in others but these people didn't make the news/is not on the news right now and are forgotten. did anyone raise a ruckus then? i didn't hear any. so what makes this so different?

so i say...why can't this project go forward? its not like all the money is towards the ad. if more money is donated, more money will be given as aid. i am sure the individuals running this project is aware of all these sentiments people are having and will be sure to pick a reasonable priced ad in a newspaper.

one last note, why can't we do two things at once? send a message of support to the artist we adore & assist those in need. there is nothing wrong with that. it does not make me less of a human being than anyone else.

p.s. i donated to the project already because i support it wholeheartedly

tyfyt
tbh, the team is trying to reconcile all the differing opinions, but like you said, we'll definitely keep the ad costs to a minimum.

thank you for your wholehearted support! ;)))
thank you for collaborating and coming up with this project. i fully support it - i feel like international fans really need to do more to show their support to TVXQ. Previously planned projects such as billboard, etc. didn't really came through, so I hope this one will.

*donated*
P.S. before i get bricked ~ just wanna say i've done my part to support the haiti relief through my local red cross.....and this is a project that i also believe in ~
thank you for your support! :)

Okay, I fully support this project and all that, and I'm gonna donate some money in a minute,
but here's my two cents:

I think, the newspaper ad should run AFTER the Haiti earthquake relief things in general have died down a bit. The ad would still run, just at a later time. I think, that would please quite a number of people who think that wasting so much money on an ad instead of donating is "stupid" or whatever they think.

Also so people don't go, "wtf, international fans are wasting $5000 on a newspaper ad instead of donating it to haiti". if the haiti stuff dies down (in general) after a while, people will forget and not be so hating when we run the newspaper ad, ^^"

edit: do i pay in USD or any currency I want?

thanks for you suggestion! i've informed the rest of the team, and we will discuss this further. :)

USD would be best if possible, but we accept other currencies as well. Thank you!

It sounds so nice!=] I'm gonna donate!
thank you! :)
Before donating for this project, i just have a trivial request that i hope you can help: can you set up something like mailing list so that i can receive update from this project in my mailbox?
I'm not that a frequent lj user (urg work lately keeps me busy) so it'll help me much if there's such a thing as update delivery to mailbox.
Thank you.
Please leave your request on this page: http://community.livejournal.com/tvxq_i_love/1105.html

I look into setting up the mailing list asap :)

i just sent a donation but something was weird...

first, the e-mail: future_sex.lovesound@yahoo.co.uk sounds a bit...you know =\
and second, after i sent it the paypal said that it went to "kkc store" or smtg like this...

is that okay or my money just went to a wrong place T.T
Can you go to your transaction history and do a screen cap and email it to us at: tvxq.internationalfans@gmail.com ?

The paypal email is such because we're just using a spare account we have, since it was already available. ^^;;
